Unexpected need - shirts for hospitals
Shalika’s friend Anton (Kyiv) messaged asking for help spreading the word on a fundraiser to buy fabric. Fabric? What does this have to do with war and war efforts, this makes no sense. “Is there no fabric in the country?” a sensible question was asked. “Because of the war, routes were bombed and now there is a supply chain issue. Soldiers who were hospitalized due to their injuries have nothing to wear in the hospital after their surgeries”, an utterly shocking response that made a ton of sense.
A man, who is a designer stepped up and said that it would be an honor for him to use his skill set. Thus, the fabric was bought, shirts were made, and 500 people were grateful.
On leftover money fabrics were used to create camouflage nets to protect the lives of our soldiers, so they don’t end up in hospitals.
All that from rolls and rolls of fabric. Unexpected need, but what an impact.
